In France, it is a tradition to eat a Galette de Rois on the epiphany (6th of January) and it is something my family does every year as well. A small charm is hidden in the cake and whoever receives the slice with the charm is "king" or "queen" of the day and gets to boss everyone around for the day!
You will need

400g puff pastry
100g sugar
100g ground almond
100g butter
2 rounded spoons of apricot jam
1 beaten egg (I've used an egg substitute)
Method
Split the puff pastry in half and roll each half to fit a 25cm circle. Place one half inside your baking tin.
Spread the two spoons of apricot jam across the pastry with a margin around 1cm wide.

3. Mix the butter and sugar together until fluffy and then slowly mix in the almond and egg.
4. Spread the almond paste over the jam again with a margin of around 1cm. Then hide the charm in the paste.
5. Place the second piece of puff pastry on top of the tin and join it with the other pastry. You can use a knife to decorate it.
6. Bake for 25-30 minutes at 200°C it should be golden :)
I would like to taste this. I like ground almonds. You have nice dishes 😃.
